Paperlinx has agreed to pay the full entitlements of 252 workers at its Wesley Vale and Burnie mills when they become redundant next year.
But 171 workers who will remain at the part of the Burnie mill being put up for sale have not received a guarantee.
Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) secretary Ken Fraser says there will be separate stop work meetings today at 1:00pm and 8:00pm (AEST).
"People have some concern, if the business is on-sold, about the possibility of people losing their entitlements if something should go wrong with the possible new buyers," he said.
"What the membership wishes to seek is a payout of the entitlements prior to a sale taking place."
Tas Paper has expressed disappointment at the planned strike action.
Dr John Ryder from Tas Paper says he is at a loss to understand the strike action and he says all workers who are made redundant will be paid-out.
However Dr Ryder says any workers whose jobs are secured through a sale will not receive a redundancy, as that would effectively be double-dipping.
