Reasons for joining the CFMEU FFPD

Union members get higher wages

Studies consistently show that union members receive up to 15% higher wages than non union members

Union workplaces are safer workplace

Statistics show that you are less likely to suffer a workplace injury in a unionised workplace.

Union members have better working conditions

The Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show Union members get better sick leave and holiday leave entitlements than non-members and are more likely to receive long service leave and paid maternity leave.

Union members are better trained in a better workplace

A recent international report by the World Bank found that members not only get better pay but they are better trained, have better working conditions and job security and work fewer hours. Unions are good for not only their members but the economy and in helping reduce inequality.

Together we are stronger

With over 18,500 members Australia-wide, the CFMEU FFPD has the collective strength to stand up for your rights at work. This means that you get a greater say in the decisions that affect you and your family.

Support if you are injured at work

The CFMEU FFPD is here to support you if you are injured at work. The Union gives you access to a team of professionals who can provide assistance with medical and legal issues.

Protection from unfair treatment at work

No workers should be bullied or harassed. Workers should be treated with respect and your Union will make sure this happens.

A secure future for our industries

The CFMEU FFPD has a long and proud history of standing up for the rights of our members. The Union runs highly successful campaigns to pressure Governments to ensure that our industries are viable and to support our members, their families and communities when times are tough. We are there when you need us

When our members are feeling the pinch, for whatever reason, the Union is there to help. Members who have been unfairly dismissed, are threatened with job losses or are threatened with a loss of conditions or insufficient pay increases receive strong support from the Union.

We provide the services you need

Your Union delivers on industry superannuation, maternity/paternity leave, trade union and OH&S Training, securing your entitlements, protecting your future, keeping jobs in Australia, fighting for an industry plan to secure our industries future ... and a whole lot more.

And don't forget your Union fees are tax deductible

Make sure you include your union fees on your annual tax return as they are fully tax deductible.
